Antonio GiovanniniAntonio Giovannini - Ottone*

Still very young he made his debut in Cavalli’s Eliogabalo at the Teatro San Domenico in Crema, starting a career with a very busy schedule in Baroque music. He was then chosen by Riccardo Muti for the role of Matusio in Jommelli’s Demofoonte (at the Salzburg Festival and at the Palais Garnier in Paris) and for a production of Jommelli’s Betulia Liberata both in Salzburg and Ravenna. In 2009 he made his debut at the Festival International de Musique Baroque de Beaune in Handel's Giulio Cesare (Tolomeo) with Al Ayre Español and Eduardo Lopez-Banzo. Since 2009 he is a regular guest at the Kiel Opera, where he sang the title roles in Handel’s Giulio Cesare, Rinaldo and Radamisto under Rubén Dubrovsky. In 2010 he was Unulfo in a new production of Handel’s Rodelinda conducted by Diego Fasolis at the Martina Franca Festival, where he returned last summer as Megabise in Hasse’s Artaserse, Corrado Rovaris conducting. He sang Vivaldi's Catone in Utica (Fulvio) at the Theater an der Wien and at the Opera Rara Festival in Krakow with Modo Antiquo and Federico Maria Sardelli and Scarlatti's Flora Pellegrina at the Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht with B'Rock and Eduardo Lopez-Banzo. He also sang and recorded (for Naïve) the role of Egaro in Vivaldi’s Teuzzone in Versailles with Les Concert des Nations and Jordi Savall. He has just made his outstanding US debut singing Orff’s Carmina burana with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Riccardo Muti in Chicago and New York (Carnegie Hall). His repertoire also include contemporary operas and works by Britten like Midsummer Night's Dream (Oberon) and The Turn of the Screw. Future plans : Handel’s Siroe (Medarse) at the Händel-Festspiele Göttingen under Lawrence Cummings; concerts in Rome with Modo Antiquo and Federico Maria Sardelli.  *role debut
